Third Trimester Recap

Our babe boy is set to go far in a petty over 2 weeks, so today I wanted to epitomize this pregnancy and answer some FAQs I've been getting.

With baby boy set to get in pretty much whatsoever day now, I thought it would be dainty to answer some of your questions and document the latter one-half of this pregnancy with baby number two.

Our due date is August xxx, just we have a scheduled c-department planned for August 24 which is but over two weeks away at this point! I've been decorated getting things ready around the business firm while as well getting things in identify at piece of work before maternity leave.

And in between all the preparations, I've as well been trying my best to spend this summer enjoying my pregnancy and soaking upwardly sweet fourth dimension with Chloe while she's nonetheless an only kid.

If yous missed information technology, you can jump back to my mid-pregnancy check-in to read more about the first half of my pregnancy. Today, let'south dive into all the questions you've been asking recently well-nigh how I'thou feeling, how we're getting ready for babe, etc.

Pregnancy Q&A

There's a wide variety of questions hither, all crowdsourced from Instagram or things my friends and family accept asked me recently. I didn't really find a great way to organize them, so we're going to consider this a Q&A grab pocketbook!

Are you enjoying infant prep this summertime? Have you had that nesting feeling?

I am nesting like crazy and thoroughly enjoying information technology! Nosotros were very preoccupied with starting new jobs and moving to a new metropolis when pregnant with Chloe (we moved into our house about two weeks before her due date!), so I didn't have much opportunity to really "nest" with her.

I'm soaking up all of that nesting energy with this baby, maybe a chip besides much because I'm even so building a closet with only 2 weeks to go…

How are you feeling?

I've generally felt pretty good, much better than the first trimester for certain. My biggest complaint has probably been how hard it is to catch my jiff a lot of the time! I've had some pretty bad backaches off and on and very tight/sore/achy joints that are definitely getting worse in this final month. Most of it has been tolerable, but uncomfortable. In the past ii weeks I've definitely seen a major dip in my free energy and power to practice much physically, fifty-fifty just doing a short DIY task leaves me feeling sore and worn out these days!

Do y'all accept a proper name picked out?

Boy names are way harder than girl names! Nosotros've actually struggled with names merely finally have a list of three names we both like. We had Chloe's name chosen a couple of months before she was born, but I have a feeling nosotros won't finalize this infant'southward name until afterward he's born.

Is Chloe excited to be a big sister?

Chloe is very excited about her baby blood brother! She volition turn 4 in November so she is at an age where she'due south asking a lot of questions and really understands what's happening. She thinks my growing belly is funny and likes the idea that baby brother can hear her talking. She's constantly mentioning things that she'll have to teach him, and it'due south so sweet. She can't wait to cuddle with him!

This is Chloe subsequently practicing giving her dolls rides in the ruby carriage and so she'll be set up to give her baby brother rides.

What are your plans for motherhood get out? How are you preparing?

My Total-Fourth dimension Job

I'one thousand extremely thankful that my employer offers paid parental leave (I took 8 unpaid weeks off with Chloe). I will be taking a full 12 weeks off from my job, one-half of that is paid go out and the other half is PTO that I've saved upwards.

I manage all of our company'due south social media and electronic mail marketing and have been working actually hard to get daily social posts and weekly marketing emails scheduled through Dec so a lot of my job tin run on autopilot while I'm abroad.

I've also been documenting processes for everything I exercise and training team members so they can cover things while I'm out.

My Concern

The achiever in me immediately created an ambitious editorial calendar of blog posts and social posts that I could create and schedule in advance of baby arriving. But after thinking about it, I decided to take a much more relaxed approach.

The beauty of this concern is that it runs itself, and then if I go off the grid for a while it'south really non a huge deal. Our family doesn't rely on the income from my blog, so I was okay turning down sponsored opportunities for this fall and slowing down instead. I've decided to not impale myself trying to create a agglomeration of content and instead plan to just let my social media become dark for a fiddling while. My blog has a ton of existing content and will be just fine without whatsoever new weblog posts.

I imagine I'll desire to share a few baby updates on Instagram once infant boy arrives, but otherwise, I intend to exist quiet online for a footling while. I'thousand leaving the timeframe very open-ended and will see how it goes, but I await I'll start easing back into content creation quondam in October.

What are you doing or planning to practice differently with your second baby than with your starting time?

This is such a practiced question, and I'm not coming up with any good answers! I've definitely enjoyed pouring my energy into the nursery this time around since I didn't really get to do that while meaning with Chloe (we moved in 2 weeks before her due appointment).

I'd say the biggest difference with this pregnancy is how much more aware I am that something could go wrong. With Chloe, I just causeless she'd be healthy and never idea much nearly it. Since and then, several close friends have experienced loss and I feel a lot more educated almost the warning signs and various risks. I've been counting kicks religiously, and mostly beingness much more in tune with my body and baby.

IS THE PANDEMIC AFFECTING YOUR Infirmary STAY? Are you able to accept visitors?

It's non as restrictive every bit information technology was a year agone thankfully, but there are still COVID-19 precautions in place that will affect u.s.. We will demand to wear masks for our entire stay, and we are allowed a maximum of two visitors at a time.

The big bummer is that all visitors must exist over the age of 16, and then Chloe will non be able to visit us at all. I'k sad she won't get to come to the hospital to meet her blood brother, just we'll definitely video conversation with her and she'll go to hold him every bit presently as we get domicile.

Any favorite maternity clothes or products y'all'd recommend?

I shared a blog post last week with my height fifteen pregnancy essentials! You can read it here.

Will the plant nursery be washed before baby gets here?

That's the million-dollar question at the moment! I don't expect information technology to be fully done, I'grand sure I'll still take things to hang on the walls and finishing touches I'll desire to do. But overall, the room itself is all set upwards now with a crib, recliner, and a dresser total of baby clothes, diapers, and wipes.

The principal project I demand to finish yet is the DIY closet shelving. I've always wanted to build something like this but it'southward a larger undertaking than anything I've built before and maybe not the smartest thing for my last few weeks of pregnancy. I'chiliad having to accept a lot of breaks and so it's going irksome, but I got off to a good start this week and I'grand crossing my fingers I tin can end it before baby arrives.

What are you packing in your hospital handbag? Anything you are/are non packing this time around?

Our bags are officially packed and ready! I crowdsourced suggestions and volition share my packing listing and other ideas in a future blog postal service. I want to wait until after our hospital stay and so I tin can share all the things we packed and what used/didn't use.

Overall, we're packing pretty much the same things I think. Nosotros're both practical packers so I don't recollect having too many extra things final time around and I retrieve we've packed well-nigh the same things this time.

Did you lot accept maternity photos?

I did! I wasn't sure information technology was necessary, simply in the end, I'm glad I documented this pregnancy. Our lensman is amazing and I cannot look for her to shoot newborn photos!

I have a few more pregnancy-related blog posts to share eventually, merely for at present, y'all tin can check out the ones linked here:
